How can energy communities increase local system efficiency a report by smartEn featuring Powerledger

SmartEn released their report which includes Powerledger's case study on Powerledger and Carlton & United Breweries: Solar Exchange.

Powerledger’s European Representative Cristina Mata Yandiola, recently participated at smartEn’s road to flexcon panel. The panel explored how energy communities can increase local system efficiency.

The webinar focused on activities that require geographic proximity, such as setting up collective self-consumption schemes, optimising the use of renewables and reducing grid congestion. By using the local grid as efficiently as possible, this will allow for the greatest number of new distributed energy resources (such as solar PV) to be connected, while delaying grid upgrades for as long as possible.

The panel not only highlighted the outcomes of smartEn's report on energy communities, but also took a closer look at new kinds of services that can help energy communities strengthen their business model.

SmartEn has since released their report, “energy communities to increase local system efficiency. Including Powerledger’s own case study on Powerledger and Carlton & United Breweries: Solar Exchange. Read the full report here and webinar below.
