BCPG & MEA, Thailand
Thai renewable energy business BCPG and Thai utility Metropolitan Electricity Authority are using Power Ledger's software within a precinct with 700 kW solar capacity, making it the largest commercial peer-to-peer trial in the world.
Power Ledger’s software is being trialled by Thai renewable energy business BCPG and Thai utility Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) to trade rooftop solar power between an international school, apartment complex, shopping center and dental hospital in Bangkok.
How the technology works
Power Ledger’s blockchain technology is tracking and settling the energy generated from renewable sources as well as the transactions between the participants.
The Power Ledger platform monitors and visualizes for each participant the generation, consumption and trading position, and provides Statement of Use information for invoicing purposes.
The MEA forecasts peer-to-peer energy trading to become mainstream for power generation in the long run.Thai Metropolitan Energy Authority
