Power Ledger is pleased to announce that its co-founder Dr Jemma Green will return as planned from maternity leave to continue her work at Power Ledger in the role of executive chairman.
As executive chairman, Dr Green will take the lead in the day-to-day management of the fast growing technology company, which was last year named the winner by Sir Richard Branson in the Extreme Tech Challenge.
The appointment follows the planned transition of managing director Dave Martin to a non-executive director role within the company.
“Power Ledger is three years old and we now have operations in the United States, Asia and Europe. Power Ledger has several co-founders and a strong leadership team so we are sharing the responsibility between us,” said Dr Green.
Power Ledger drew inspiration from tech giant Google, which passed the CEO mantle from Eric Schmidt to co-founder Larry Page.
Mr Martin will remain on the board and continue to be involved in strategic decisions as well as business development.
“I am proud that at Power Ledger we are a major contributor to transforming energy markets globally. The non executive director role allows me to focus more on my passion for energy system transformation” said Mr Martin.
Power Ledger is growing quickly with active projects in Australia, Thailand, Japan, Europe and the United States.
Dr Green says she is excited to be returning from maternity leave as planned to the company she co-founded to continue with the company’s strategy to proliferate its energy trading software across the world.
“In 2016 we started with one retirement village in Busselton. Now we have significant opportunities in several countries to support trading electricity in an agile way.
Power Ledger is an Australian technology company that has developed a blockchain-enabled renewable energy trading platform.
Power Ledger’s technology was awarded the crown by Sir Richard Branson in the global Extreme Tech Challenge and co-founder Dr. Jemma Green was awarded EY Fintech Entrepreneur of the Year.
The company has built a series of products to enable energy trading, renewable asset financing and more efficient carbon and renewable energy credit markets.
